Bloodbath Dungeons & Dragons Benefit Tournaments

Join Dungeon Master Dale from Duck and Crow Press for some old-school dungeon-crawling tabletop role-playing MAYHEM - and all for a good cause!
Each session of the event is a timed and scored one-shot run through Bloodbath Dungeon 3: Veldtjan. At the end of the summer, after all the sessions are complete, we raffle off prizes from local businesses and donate all the profit to NAGLY.

Get tickets

A cash bar will be available.

Play ticket ($15) Max 6 per session.
1. A seat at the table!
2. An adult beverage (beer or hard seltzer) or non-alcoholic beverage of your choice.
3. Knowledge that all profits go toward supporting NAGLY!

Booster Tickets: These are donation tickets – they do not give you a seat at the table to play. The purchase of these tickets adds things for the crew to have on hand to the specific session and, more importantly, a few more dollars to help North Shore LGBTQAI+ Youth.

• +$5: Red-aura Dagger (magic dagger causes extra damage)
• +$5: Scroll of Protection from Demons (can't be harmed by demons for a bit)
• +$5: Potion of Outrageous Healing (+2d8 vigor and become Outrageous)
• +$5: Scroll of Forbidden Knowledge (ask the Ref 1 question about something in front of you)
• +$10: Potion of Heroic Fortune (Roll 1d30 for EVERYTHING until the timer runs out)
• +$10: Wand of Thor’s Wrath (blast stuff with lightning bolts)
• +$25: YENMUTH (a very magical but VERY CURSED longsword)
• +$10: Good Vibes! (no in-game items, just a good feeling of helping out NAGLY)

The Events
Each event is a fresh run at the dungeon Veldtjarn as though it had never been explored. As players, you want to get in, get as much loot as possible, and get out. If the characters happen to quiet the heart of the living dungeon before it eats the sun, so much the better!

Each event has a maximum of 6 player seats. You can sign up as an individual, or as a group! Walk-ins are welcome if there are seats available.

Spectators are cool (but if you plan on playing later on, be cool about it/let us know).

Pre-generated characters will be made available. Any Booster Ticket items will be available. There will be some prep time, but the actual dungeon run itself is timed at 150 minutes. Once the clock starts, it doesn’t stop! We play until the timer runs out or the crew decides they have pushed their luck far enough.

This is a 21+ event. The dungeon is not for the faint of heart. In-game violence will be gruesome (think late 80’s action or horror film), descriptions to make players say “oh disgusting!!!” are common, and characters are going to die (but don’t worry, you can just get another). This is about having a wild and exciting rampage as players! It isn’t hack-and-slash, but it is player rather than character-focused.

The Dungeon
An ancient behemoth, a living dungeon, approaches. It is the great stone Elk of Heaven (the ancient water, who was the first to step upon the world when it was fresh), Aelareth the Sky Stag (whose movements control the stars), and Veltjarn the Eternal Hart (who steals knowledge from those unworthy of it). The Ulwehn Sages declare that if Veltjarn’s heart is not quiesced it will devour the sun and end all.

The Game
The tournament is run using the BXDH system, but knowledge of the system (or any role playing game) is not necessary! Rules and characters are provided, new players are welcome. This is more about players playing - rulesmastery is not something to worry about. As an “old school” game, clever ideas are more important than rolling dice, and the Referee makes rulings rather than spending time looking up vague or niche rules.

Scoring
Points are primarily awarded for treasure extracted (or in hand when the timer runs out), and exploration of the dungeon. There are (major) bonus points for quieting the heart of Veltjarn! The score is for THE ENTIRE TEAM.

A person can join and play as many times as they like (with a points penalty per player as they will already have knowledge of the dungeon).

Championship and Prizes
The team with the highest score is declared the Champion! You get bragging rights and first dibs on a seat at the next tournament.

Prizes are raffled off
• Each player gets 1 “raffle ticket”
• The MVP of each session gets 1 “raffle ticket”
• Members of the Champion Team gain 1 additional “raffle tickets” each
• Tickets for prizes are drawn at random. Everyone can win!
• Physical prize pickup will be scheduled at Granite Coast Brewing
